CORE CURRICULUM

Core Curriculum of Biologic Diagnosis and Treatment

Completion of the core curriculum of Biologic Diagnosis and Treatment is an unparalleled educational experience for the dentist and/or lab technician who are interested in offering the highest level of comprehensive care possible to their patient and or client. No other continuing education program in dentistry requires the student to successfully complete two cases and to present their completed case upon graduation of the program. We pride ourselves on being the only occlusion-based teaching institution that offers a 4 to 1 student-to-faculty ratio with true hands-on education.  Our educational experience also includes the magic of mentorship. Each student is guided by an experienced, caring faculty member through the completion of their chosen case.

Students who graduate from the OBI curriculum have the knowledge and tools they require to successfully diagnose and treat all types of complex dental challenges with confidence. OBI’s core curriculum is split into four levels; please view each of the levels below for more information and to register.

FUNCTION AND MORPHOLOGY CURRICULUM

Lab Curriculum: The Biological Model – Function of the Stomatognathic System

Any change of tooth morphology through processes of wear, the placement of direct or indirect restorations, or orthodontic treatment may cause a dysfunctional change in the masticatory system. During the curriculum Function and Morphology, dental technicians learn how to achieve or re-establish natural dental relationships using a functional wax-up. There is NO pre-requisite course for Lab Technician who may start their Bioesthetics® continuing education with Function and Morphology Part 1.

The Morphology curriculum is divided into two parts.

OBI FOUNDATION for Bioesthetic Dentistry® is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider.   ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education.  ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual activities or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.  OBI Foundation designates activites individually for specific continuing education hours which are noted with the description of each course.

TESTIMONIALS for MORPHOLOGY Part 1

"Imagine if you were dropped off in the middle of a stark desert landscape in the dark without a gps or map  - how would you know where to go?  This system gives you a method to start a VERY complex problem and not get lost and achieve a predictable solution"  Andre M - CDT

"It was a very educational course to attend.  Faculty is very organized and precise.  All the material that we covered was a lot but he made sure every attendee understood each contents.  The class was very interactive and very concentrated.  Lots of feedback from each other on cases that we work on.  This is an ideal learning environment."  Ansley K

This is a PhD equivalent in Lab Technology. The course should be mandatory for any Tech who wants to be successful in Bioesthetic work.  The teacher is knowledgeable in a vast amount of subjects and the students will not onl learn about morphology, but many other aspects of Bioesthetics® lab work.  Brian V., RDT

"This course was very important to the development of my dental skills.  In my opinion it's not only for dental technicians but also for dentists.  To create right cusps and fossae with no interference while chewing in the mouth and to control dental technician's work, it is in my opinion crucial to finish this course.  Faculty has great teaching skills and this difficult knowledge is explained very clearly.  I am very satisfied.  I would join this course."  Dr. Pawel N, DDS

"Faculty's method of calculating morphology based on measurements from natural models is vital for creating Bioesthetic full mouth wax ups.  There is no question that can not be answered when a Doctor communicates with a technician, which makes this course equally valuable for doctors and techs.  Faculty is thorough, knowledgeable and patient.  Equally adept at fielding questions from experienced doctors and techs.   I look forward to many more great classes."   Brian V., RDT

No information is wasted; using time efficiently and class contents are very much thoughtout.  Every instruction is useful with our everyday work.  Ansley K
