"'Are you having another headache?' I have been asked that question ever since I was little. The answer would always be, 'Yes.' I have struggled with that nauseating feeling of a steel band pressing into my head, the feeling of wanting to gouge out my eyes, just to relieve the sensitivity to light and movement. Pain, until recently, would leave me on the floor in the fetal position with the lights out.

"My parents did not know what to do. They took me to see the eye doctor. They took me to see our family physician. At age twelve my parents were referred to an orthodontist. My teeth were straightened, but I clenched my way through two retainers after the treatment, and my headaches did not go away. At my yearly exam I asked my Dentist why I was wearing down my teeth. I could see the inside layer of my lower front teeth and my fixed retainer from orthodontics was visible. My dentist did not have an answer.

"As I entered college, my anxiety level increased, accelerating my symptoms. I would wake up with my jaw sore from clenching, still clamped in that position. I was having headaches up to five times a week and treating them with 800mg of Ibuprofen each time.

"I began working for Two OBI trained doctors after college. They noticed how I would go silent and my face would reveal my discomfort from my headaches. The Doctors had seen this before. These Doctors had an answer. They wanted to help me get out of pain. I thought it was not possible for these headaches to go away because they had become so common. I thought it was just something I would have to live with for the rest of my life.

"I began wearing the MAGO full time as soon as I got it. I learned to eat all over again. My headaches began to go away. I felt safe with it. I would not wake up with my muscles all tense. I began to get relief from what was indeed a bite imbalance. It took six months for my jaw to be stabilized and seated in its socket. To correct my bite, resin bonding was done on my front teeth and biologic form and function was returned to my chewing system.
