Complete Bioesthetic Rejuvenation
(Level IV), guides the dentist and laboratory technician through the actual Bioesthetic rejuvenation of a severely worn or mutilated dentition selected from the dentist’s own practice.

Because of this advanced face-shortening, degenerative, condition, Bioesthetic Dentistry will regularly provide dramatic dentoskeletal facelifts. Laboratory support is essential. Therefore, laboratory technicians are required to attend each session with his/her dentist.

The format includes a comprehensive interactive diagnostic process which is shared with other classmates and their laboratory technicians. As in Level III, this shared process is the cornerstone of diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment. Again this training process coordinates and prioritizes all restorative procedures such as: site work, veneers, crowns, fixed and removable prosthodontics, implants and any other required specialty treatment including orthodontics and orthognathic surgery.

Students learn how to plan and restore the patient’s intermaxillary vertical dimension to accommodate genetic tooth form. All diagnosis and treatment is performed with the mandibular condyles in stable Centric Relation position. Dentists will learn crown preparation, impression technique, provisional crown fabrication, and final cementation procedures. Predictable management of the periodontium and occlusion are also included in the course. All cases will be mounted both on the hinge-axis determined Functional Plane of Occlusion with an open-bite Stable Condylar Position (SCP) record for functional requirements and the Esthetic Plane of Occlusion for esthetic requirements.

Complete Bioesthetic
rejuvenation resulted in
life-changing, age-reversing
facelifts for each of these
patients. Not only do they
now have beautiful smiles,
but they also enjoy
healthy function.

Dentists document each step of their rehabilitations with digital photography and mounted intraoral casts. They also are required to use the Power Point program to show pretreatment and post treatment slides of the patient’s teeth, face, smile, and mounted intraoral casts. Students perform the dentistry in their own offices and present their case progress at each session for technique review and guidance by course instructors and class members. Every student presents their completed cases at a special OBI meeting following the course. Level IV is presented in eight sessions; one three-day session and seven two-day sessions.
