All courses offered by OBI Foundation for Bioesthetic Dentistry focus on orognathic analysis. Bioesthetic Diagnosis (Level II) is an interactive course designed to enhance dentists’ and specialists’ diagnostic skills concerning chewing system problems.

The course is presented in three two-day sessions, and is a pre-requisite for Comprehensive Bioesthetic Rejuvenation (Level III).

During the first session, participants will be trained in the use of instruments necessary to mount intra-oral stone casts in preliminary Centric Relation.

This “hands-on” clinical workshop will teach procedures and instrumentation necessary for a dynamic relational study of the teeth and TM joints. The objective is to help dentists become capable of making dependable, comprehensive, three-dimensional dentognathic diagnoses before treating functional and esthetic problems.

The second session is a clinical and laboratory participation course on TMJ stabilization in Centric Relation, using a Maxillary Anterior Guided Orthosis (MAGO). Dentists will work in pairs at the chair, learning how to fit and adjust the MAGO for mandi-bule to cranial base stabilization. Dentists will be taught how in optimal, natural health, the con-dyles seat in the most superior, anterior and medial position against the thinnest portion of the articulator disc in the glenoid fossae during func-tion. This positional goal is the primary prerequisite of every case for a trustworthy diagnosis.

In session three, dentists and laboratory technicians will be taught how to correct and rebuild a malocclusion according to the Principles of Bioesthetics. This will be done by performing subtractive and additive coronaplasty procedures under supervision on mounted intraoral casts.

As office staff and laboratory technician participation is critical to successful development of a comp-rehensive diagnostic practice, it is recommended that they attend appropriate sessions.
